Below the photo is information: Barnes was born May 17, 1830. He enlisted April 16, 1861 in Company G. of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Barnes was shot and killed in Vienna, Virginia. Following his death, his brother, J. C. Barnes, went and took his place in the ranks without being enlisted and without pay.
