Located in Greenlawn Cemetery the inscription continues: Husband of Elizabeth Tanner. Who departed this life September 21, 1836. Aged 35 years, 5 months and 17 days. whose death was caused by bursting of a cannon fired in "honour" of President Jackson's landing in Portsmouth, Ohio. He survived only 21 hours then departed to try the realities of a better world we hope.
