Sepia photo of the crowd gathered for the 50th anniversary of F. C. Herms and Catherine (Marting) Herms, founders of Herms Floral Company in Portsmouth. Scioto County marriage records list their marriage date as October 3, 1860. Their home on Chillicothe Pike had a view of the Scioto River. Several Herms Floral Company greenhouses were nearby. The details of this celebration were printed in the Portsmouth Times on Saturday October 8, 1910.
