Anderson's was here from 1899 until 1937 when Sears Roebuck Department Store moved in. Sears closed in about 1983 and the building was later remodeled into apartments.

Built in 1923 by Adolph Hurth, it had 107 rooms with adjoining baths with hot and cold running water. It also had a barber shop, a pressing room and a restaurant. Since 1982 the building has been used as senior citizen apartments.
