Typed information for the boat races at 1971 River Days Festival. When the first River Days Festival was held in Portsmouth in 1963, the boat race was one of its most popular events. An estimated twenty thousand people watched the race from both sides of the Ohio River. World Championship amateur boat races were sponsored by the Ohio Valley Boating Club.
