According to the Scioto County Auditor, this building was built in 1915. During the early 1900's the building was used for residences. From 1928 to the early 1980's, the building was used for various restaurants, bars, and cafes. In 1985, the building became Frank N Steins Bar and Restaurant and is still this today.
This building was built in 1915 and remodeled in 1971. In the early 1900's the building was used for housing. From the mid 1920's to the mid 1930's, it was the American Building and Loan Association Berndt John W. Agency. From 1939 to 1947, it was the Portsmouth Fur Shop. In the early 1950's the building was again used for housing. From the 1950's to the 1960's it was used for restaurants and cafes. In 2006, the building became Jackson Hewitt Tax Service.
